This was the first quilt I long-armed myself. I thought it would be easiest to start by following a pantograph (there is a laser in the back of the machine that you use as a guide to follow a pattern). Let me tell you that it was pretty tedious work! It took over six hours and I was exhausted by the end.
It came out nicely, despite my pain and suffering. I have, however, pretty much decided to stick with free-motion methods from now on.
